The College continues to support pharmacists’ expanding scope of practice with the launch of Oral Contraceptives: a comprehensive training course for pharmacists and Uncomplicated Cystitis Treatment training for Victorian pharmacists, as well as the upcoming release of the Travel Health Course.
All short courses are suitable for pharmacists participating in the Victorian Community Pharmacist State-wide Pilot (Pilot).
Participating pharmacists will be able to provide treatment for uncomplicated urinary tract infections in women aged from 18 to 65 years as part of the Pilot, and the resupply select oral contraception for eligible women.
The Oral Contraceptives Course is CPD-accredited and provides pharmacists with the knowledge to provide and manage the continuation of oral hormonal contraception for eligible women.
As the Official Training Partner for the North Queensland Community Pharmacy Scope of Practice Pilot, where trained pharmacists can prescribe oral contraceptives for eligible women, the Oral Contraceptives Course is backed by an experienced education provider for pharmacists’ full scope of practice.
On completion of the Travel Health course, participating pharmacists will be able to provide vaccination and healthcare services for the purpose of travel.
All short courses launched are free for current College Pharmacist Members and can be accessed via the College website.
However, non-members can bundle and save with a special offer of $250* for Pharmacist Membership (valued at $399), which includes Uncomplicated Cystitis Treatment training, Oral Contraceptives Course (valued at $299) and the Travel Health Course (coming soon).
