Pharmacy customers today have an extensive range of nutritional options to choose from when standing in front of the formula range in community pharmacies.
Importantly, these customers want to ensure they are purchasing formula that will provide their baby with the optimal nutrition they need.
Pharmacists need to have an understanding of the formula product range in their pharmacies so that they can provide customers with the information they need to make the best decision for their babies.
Oli6® is a new range of dairy goat formulas, manufactured in Victoria by an Australian-owned company, which is now available exclusively through community pharmacy.
For many pharmacies, formula has become a key product category as they meet the needs of young families in their community.
The Guild Pharmacy Academy now offers a special course, titled Goat’s Milk Formula, which outlines the important role that pharmacists have in discussing infant feeding issues and supporting breastfeeding in the first instance.
The course also examines aiding in formula choice and correct use of formula with parents and care-givers, where breastfeeding is no longer possible or the mother has chosen not to breastfeed.
The final part of the course provides pharmacists with practical information about the range of Oli6® dairy goat formulas.
The completion of this online course will attract 0.75 Group One CPD Credits and 1.5 Group Two CPD Credits following the successful completion of an assessment
To enrol in this important course please visit www.myCPD.org.au or contact the Guild Pharmacy Academy on 03 9810 9930 or email [email protected] for more information.
The Guild would like to thank Nuchev, the makers of Oli6® for its assistance and expertise in developing this course.
